Preparing for An Estate Sale
We understand that this process can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to make things as smooth, respectful, and stress-free as possible for you and your family.
To set your sale up for success, there are a few important steps. The home is typically ready when it’s no longer being lived in and loved ones have had time to go through and keep the items that matter most. Anything not intended for the sale should be removed or placed together in one clearly marked space.
Estate sales work best when the home still reflects a full household, with furniture, décor, and everyday items in place. This helps create a more complete experience for shoppers and allows us to get the best results for you. Having a general timeline for when you’d like the sale to take place also helps us plan and prepare accordingly.
If you’re not quite at this point yet, that’s completely okay. We’re here to guide you at your own pace and are always available to answer questions along the way. When you’re ready, we’ll be here to help you take the next step.
Questions and Support
What is an estate sale?
An estate sale is a professionally managed sale held inside a home where most or all of the contents are available for purchase. It’s designed to help families efficiently transition belongings while maximizing their value.
When is an estate sale the right option?
If the home is largely furnished or contains a significant amount of items, it is typically a strong candidate. Estate sales are ideal during times of transition, including:
- Downsizing or relocating

Do I need to empty the house beforehand?
No. In fact, estate sales are most successful when the home remains mostly intact. We recommend removing only personal items or anything you plan to keep.
